In February 2024, the city of Tampere sold Frenckell's office to a subsidiary of real estate investment company Aare Invest Oy. Aare Invest also owns and manages the historical Frenckell property.

A new era for the Frenckell office

Frenckell's office will undergo major improvements possibly already this year. The renovation respects the history of the area and preserves the valuable architectural look of the building. The property will be renovated under the auspices of the Museum Agency, but with modern construction technology. The goal is to achieve energy efficiency class A and BREEAM environmental certification is being applied for the building.

Office and restaurant space

Frenckell's office has worked for e.g. mayor. In the future, the mayor will move from the Frenckell paper mill to an office building.

In Frenckell's office, almost a thousand square meters are renovated into unique and flexible office spaces. Within these historic stone walls will be modern office spaces realized with modern construction techniques, which do justice to the long history of the building. The restaurant space will be built on two floors. In addition to the restaurant space, the restaurant will have a terrace.

Tampereen historiallisesti merkittävä Frenckellin konttori kokee perusteellisen uudistuksen – Saneeraustyöt käynnistyvät jo tänä vuonna

Tampereen kaupunki myi Frenckellin konttorin helmikuussa 2024 kiinteistösijoitusyhtiö Aare Invest Oy:n tytäryhtiölle. Aare Invest omistaa ja hallinnoi myös vieressä sijaitsevaa Frenckellin paperitehdasta.

Frenckellin konttorin uusi aika

Frenckellin konttorissa suoritetaan mittavat parannustyöt mahdollisesti jo tämän vuoden aikana. Saneerauksessa kunnioitetaan alueen historiaa ja säilytetään rakennuksen arvokas arkkitehtoninen ilme. Kiinteistö tullaan saneeraamaan museoviraston alaisuudessa, mutta kuitenkin nykyaikaisella talotekniikalla. Tavoitteena on saavuttaa energiatehokkuusluokka A ja rakennukselle haetaan BREEAM-ympäristösertifikaattia.

Toimisto- ja ravintolatilaa

Frenckellin konttorissa on toiminut mm. pormestari. Tulevaisuudessa pormestari muuttaa Frenckellin paperitehtaasta virastotaloon.

Frenckellin konttorissa uudistetaan lähes tuhat neliömetriä ainutlaatuisiksi ja joustaviksi toimistotiloiksi. Nämä historialliset kiviseinät saavat kodikseen moderneja toimistotiloja nykyaikaisella talotekniikalla toteutettuna, tehden oikeutta rakennuksen pitkälle historialle. Ravintolatilaa rakennetaan kahteen kerrokseen. Ravintolatilan lisäksi ravintolaan tulee terassi.
