The full-scale renovation project of the Frenckell office building is now underway.

This ambitious project will bring significant changes to the building’s interior. While the historic facade will remain intact, all interior spaces will be completely redesigned to meet today’s needs and standards.

“In the initial planning phase, we had hoped to preserve and highlight significant historical elements of the building. Unfortunately, due to numerous alterations made over the years, nearly all original features have been lost. Instead, most surfaces revealed structures that were only 10–20 years old,” explains Marko Kuusisto, CEO of Aare Invest Oy.

Despite the extensive renewal of structures, some key historical elements will be retained. The exposed roof beams in the top floor will be preserved, and the old truss supporting the second floor will remain visible as part of the interior design. These unique features tell the story of the building’s original architecture and maintain its historical essence within the new design.

The project is progressing as planned, with the goal of creating modern, functional spaces that continue to reflect Frenckell’s history through carefully preserved details.
